Prices in US dollars for one year, grid dated 29 October 2026; you pay them from a crypto balance. A transfer costs the renewal price. Rows marked With Domain protection only include the $29 a year for that option.

With Domain protection only: sold only with Domain protection, so the registry and WHOIS show DomaineGoat LLC, never you. The price shown includes the $29/year for it.

How do I read this price table?

Each row is one extension; each price covers one year.

  • 1st year: the price of a new registration for its first 12 months.
  • Renewal: the price of every later year. Over five or ten years, this column decides the total cost.
  • Transfer: what you pay to bring an existing domain to us. Same figure as the renewal.
  • WHOIS privacy: Free means your verified email stays out of the public record at no extra cost. Our company details, not yours marks the extensions sold with Domain protection only.
  • Restrictions: rules set by the registry, such as the 2-year minimum of .ai or HTTPS for .app, .dev and .page.

Which extensions cost more to renew than to register?

Most of them. According to DotAlmanac's price grid of 29 October 2026, 35 of the 43 extensions sold in your own name renew for more. Only 8 keep a single price: .com, .net, .ai, .co, .xyz, .info, .me and .gg.

The table shows the largest gaps in our grid.

A low first-year price is fine when you read the renewal before you buy. It costs you when you keep the name for years without checking it. The renewal price index compares these gaps across registrars, and why renewals cost more explains where they come from.

Do other registrars sell a .com for less?

Yes. Porkbun's price list of 19 October 2026 puts a .com at $11.08 a year. Cloudflare Registrar sells it at cost, $10.46 (checked 8 October 2026). Both are below our $11.99/year. We do not claim to be the cheapest registrar.

Every registrar pays the same floor for a .com. Verisign charges $10.26 per year, and ICANN adds a $0.20 fee. On 1 November 2026, the Verisign fee rises to $10.97.

What we offer is a different trade: no ID check, payment in crypto, and the renewal price on screen before you pay. Some registrars win buyers with a low first year. As of 19 October 2026, Namecheap's .com costs $6.48 the first year with a code for new customers, then $18.48 to renew ($14.78 with a renewal code).

Why is a .ai billed for 2 years?

The registry of .ai, which works for the Government of Anguilla, requires a minimum term of 2 years. A .ai costs $84.49/year, so each registration pays for 2 years. According to DotAlmanac's table of 225 extensions, .ai is the only one with a 2-year minimum.

The rule also applies to renewals and transfers. A .ai transfer is billed for 2 years: the transfer plus one renewal. Its first-year and renewal prices are equal, so the 2-year bill hides no price jump. .ai vs .io compares the two tech extensions.

How much does a transfer cost?

You pay the extension's renewal price for a transfer: $11.99/year for a .com, or $52.49/year for a .io. For a gTLD like .com, the move extends the expiry date by one year. The years already paid elsewhere stay on the domain.

Under ICANN's Transfer Policy, a gTLD cannot change registrar in the 60 days that follow its registration or its last transfer. Leaving DotAlmanac costs nothing: the transfer (EPP) code is free, requested from the client area. The steps are on how it works.

What does Domain protection add to the price?

Domain protection costs $29 more per year for each domain, in addition to the domain itself. A .com with the option costs $11.99/year plus $29 a year.

12 extensions are sold only with it, since their registry wants the registrant's full name and postal address: .de, .uk, .nl, .cc, .to, .ch, .pl, .be, .at, .cz, .nz, .fi. Their price in the table already includes the option. A .de shows $36.99/year: $7.99 for the domain and $29 for Domain protection. The Domain protection page lists its four points and its limits.

Are there fees that are not in the table?

No setup fee, no account fee and no exit fee. Each domain comes with:

  • WHOIS privacy, free where the registry allows it;
  • free DNS hosting with A, AAAA, CNAME, ALIAS, MX, TXT, NS, SRV and CAA records, one-click templates (Vercel, Netlify, GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages, Shopify, Proton Mail, Fastmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho Mail), or your own nameservers (2 to 13);
  • free URL forwarding and email forwarding from the client area;
  • automatic renewal from your balance, switched on or off for each domain.

The network fee of each top-up is paid by your wallet, as with any crypto transfer. A failed registration does not cost you the price: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance.

How payment works

You settle every price above from a single crypto balance. Pay the exact amount displayed, on the network displayed. The order page lists each step, and your top-up is credited once the network confirms it.

  1. Top up $25 or more

Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.

  2. Send it to the address shown, on the exact network

The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.

  3. Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”

Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account.

  4. Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain

Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times:

    CryptoNetworkConfirmationsUsual time
    BTCBitcoin2≈ 20 min
    USDTTron (TRC-20)20≈ 1 min
    USDTEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    USDCEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    ETHEthereum12≈ 5 min
    SOLSolana1≈ 1 min
    LTCLitecoin6≈ 15 min
  5. One balance for every domain

If you started from a domain search, the top-up is the price of your cart (or the minimum, for a smaller cart), and the domains in your cart are registered once the top-up is credited. What is left stays on your balance for renewals, transfers, Domain protection and new domains. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.

Domain prices: questions

How much is a .com domain at DotAlmanac?

A .com costs $11.99/year the first year and the same for each renewal, as of 29 October 2026. WHOIS privacy is free. A transfer in costs $11.99/year and adds one year to the expiry date.

Why is the renewal often higher than the first year?

Registries and registrars often sell the first year below the regular price to win new registrations. The renewal is the regular price, and you pay it every year after. Why renewals cost more explains the mechanism.

Is there a cheaper place to buy a .io?

Yes, for the first year. As of 19 October 2026, Porkbun sells a .io at $28.12 the first year, below our $33.99/year. Its renewal is $51.80, against our $52.49/year, and part of its new accounts go through an ID check.

Will my renewal price go up?

Our grid is dated 29 October 2026, and a registry increase can change it. For example, Verisign's .com fee goes up on 1 November 2026, to $10.97 from $10.26. A year you have already paid does not change.

Can I pay by card or PayPal?

No. Payment is in crypto only: Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC). There is no card, PayPal or bank transfer option, and no Monero or Lightning either. The minimum top-up is $25.

What happens to my money if a registration fails?

You keep it on your balance. Our rule: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance. That balance then pays for any other name, renewal or transfer.
