What happens from the first search to a working domain, and what you manage afterwards: DNS records, renewals and a move to another registrar.

**Quick answer — How do you register a domain with crypto and no KYC at DotAlmanac?**

**DotAlmanac** is a domain extension guide and registrar: compare every extension, then register it with no KYC and pay in crypto. To register a domain with crypto and no KYC, search the name, top up from $1, then verify one email for the domain. As of 29 October 2026, a .com costs $11.99/year.

## What you need, and what you do not

| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Documents | None: no ID, no selfie, no ID number |
| Contact data | One email address for each domain, verified and kept private |
| Account | Opening it does not require an email address; each domain gets its own verified email |
| Coins | BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, XMR |
| Minimum top-up | $1 |
| Time to register | Registered usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours |
| If a registration fails | No money lost: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance |
| DNS | Free, with one-click templates for common hosts and mail services |

## Seven steps from a name to a working domain

1. **Choose the extension** — Decide between .com, a tech extension such as .io or .dev, or a country code. The extension table shows the first-year and renewal price of each one. How to choose gives a method in steps.
2. **Search the name** — Type the name in the domain search. The answer is available, taken or undetermined. A few extensions show Availability confirmed at order instead.
3. **Open an account** — You upload no ID document and no selfie, and you give no ID number. The email address comes later, one for each domain.
4. **Top up your balance in crypto** — Pick a coin and its network; the minimum is $1. Pay the exact amount displayed, on the network displayed; the order page lists each step.
5. **Wait for the network confirmation** — Your top-up is credited once the network confirms it. The domains in your cart are then registered, usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours.
6. **Verify the registrant email** — Each domain needs one verified email address. The rule: the registrant email is verified after registration, as ICANN rules require (within 15 days). A click on the link you receive is enough.
7. **Point the domain** — Use our free DNS and its templates, or set your own nameservers. You can add Domain protection now or later.

## How does the availability search work?

The search asks the registry first. The form sends your name to `/app/domains/?q=yourname`, and our server queries the registry's RDAP service. RDAP is free and gives the registry's own answer.

For extensions without a usable RDAP service, the server asks a commercial WHOIS service. Each result is *available*, *taken* or *undetermined*. A result stays in cache for 10 minutes per name, and each check stops after a few seconds.

For some extensions, such as .io, .co, .me, .gg, .tv, .cc and .to, the screen can show *Availability confirmed at order*. The final check then happens at registration. If someone takes the name first, your money is safe: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance. We keep no record of the names you search. More in [how to check if a domain is available](https://dotalmanac.com/how-to-check-if-a-domain-is-available/ "How do I check if a domain name is available?").

## How do I pay in crypto?

Every payment comes out of a prepaid balance, which you fill in crypto. The accepted coins are Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), Monero (XMR). Monero is one of them, credited after 10 confirmations. We take no Lightning, no card, no PayPal and no bank transfer.

The smallest top-up is $1. If your cart costs more, the top-up equals the cart. Your wallet pays the blockchain fee. Balance rule: Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.

## What DNS settings come with the domain?

Every domain gets free DNS hosting. You can add A, AAAA, CNAME, ALIAS, MX, TXT, NS, SRV and CAA records, or set 2 to 13 nameservers of your own. A Cloudflare preset takes exactly the 2 `ns.cloudflare.com` names that Cloudflare assigns to you.

One-click templates write the usual records for common hosts and mail services:

### DNS templates and the records they write

| Template | Records |
| --- | --- |
| Vercel | A @ 76.76.21.21 · CNAME www cname.vercel-dns.com (the values shown in your Vercel project take priority) |
| Netlify | ALIAS @ apex-loadbalancer.netlify.com · CNAME www `yoursite.netlify.app` |
| GitHub Pages | A @ 185.199.108.153, 185.199.109.153, 185.199.110.153, 185.199.111.153 · AAAA @ 2606:50c0:8000::153 to 2606:50c0:8003::153 · CNAME www `youruser.github.io` |
| Cloudflare Pages | CNAME www `yourproject.pages.dev`; the bare domain needs Cloudflare DNS |
| Shopify | A @ 23.227.38.65 · CNAME www shops.myshopify.com |
| Proton Mail | MX 10 mail.protonmail.ch · MX 20 mailsec.protonmail.ch · SPF include:_spf.protonmail.ch · DKIM CNAME records |
| Other templates | Fastmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho Mail, SPF + DMARC, no-email, parking |

DNSSEC is available, managed by us or with your own DS record; algorithm 13 is the recommended choice. According to DotAlmanac's table of 225 extensions, 219 of them support DNSSEC. URL forwarding and email forwarding are free. ## How do renewals work?

Renewals come out of your balance at the renewal price of the [price grid](https://dotalmanac.com/pricing/ "How much does a domain name cost per year?"). The rule: automatic renewal from your balance, switched on or off for each domain. Keep enough on the balance before the expiry date, or renew by hand from your account.

Check the renewal column before you buy, because it often differs from the first year. A .io costs $33.99/year the first year, then $52.49/year. A .ai renews 2 years at a time, as its registry requires.

## How do I move a domain out of DotAlmanac?

The transfer (EPP) code is free, requested from the client area, and there is no exit fee. Enter that code at the new registrar, then confirm the move on its side.

Two rules can delay a move. A gTLD must stay put for 60 days after its registration or its last transfer, under ICANN rules. With Domain protection, the transfer lock is on, so switch it off from your account first. You can also take the domain back in your own name, free, before the move. We never ask for your password, your account number or your domain transfer (EPP) codes by email or chat.

## Can I bring a domain to DotAlmanac from another registrar?

Yes. A transfer in costs the renewal price of the extension, $11.99/year for a .com, and adds one year on gTLDs. At your current registrar, remove the lock and copy the transfer code. Then begin the transfer from our [domain search](https://dotalmanac.com/app/domains/?lang=en). If the nameservers stay the same, the website and email keep working during the move.

## How payment works

1. **Top up $1 or more** — Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, XMR). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.
2. **Send it to the address shown, on the exact network** — The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin, XMR on Monero. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.
3. **Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”** — Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account.
4. **Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain** — Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times:
5. **One balance for every domain** — If you started from a domain search, the top-up is the price of your cart (or the minimum, for a smaller cart), and the domains in your cart are registered once the top-up is credited. What is left stays on your balance for renewals, transfers, Domain protection and new domains. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.

| Crypto | Network | Confirmations | Usual time |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Bitcoin (BTC) | Bitcoin | 2 | ≈ 20 min |
| Tether (USDT) | Tron (TRC-20) | 20 | ≈ 1 min |
| Tether (USDT) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| USD Coin (USDC) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| Ethereum (ETH) | Ethereum | 12 | ≈ 5 min |
| Solana (SOL) | Solana | 1 | ≈ 1 min |
| Litecoin (LTC) | Litecoin | 6 | ≈ 15 min |
| Monero (XMR) | Monero | 10 | ≈ 20 min |

Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.

## Registration: questions

### Do I need to give an ID to register a domain?

No. You upload no identity document, take no selfie and type no ID number. You are the registrant of record; one email per domain is all the contact data we hold. It suits people who prefer not to upload identity documents.

### Why must I verify an email if there is no KYC?

Every ICANN-accredited registrar must confirm that it can reach the registrant. Checking an email address is a contact check, not an identity check. The address stays private.

### How long does registration take?

Registration happens usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours. Before that, the network must confirm your top-up. The number of confirmations depends on the coin, as the payment table on this page shows.

### Can I register several domains with one top-up?

Yes. Put them in the cart, and the top-up covers its total, or the minimum of $1 for a small cart. What is left stays on your balance for renewals and new domains.

### Can I use Cloudflare or my own nameservers?

Yes. Set 2 to 13 nameservers of your own, or use the Cloudflare preset with the 2 names Cloudflare assigns. [Use Cloudflare with your domain](https://dotalmanac.com/how-to-use-cloudflare-with-your-domain/ "How do I use Cloudflare with my domain?") shows each step.
